Insomnia, finer points…
I wasn’t able to sleep well last night. Sometimes that happens lately. I don’t know what it is…
…it’s like my pillow feels like it’s made of concrete (it’s 1am)
Toss…turn.
…and our bed seems slanted unlevel and weird (it’s 2:30am)
Toss…turn. Probably in my mind.
…and there’s a cricket that won’t stop chirping by the lilac bush (3:45am)
Toss…turn.
…and the neighbor’s motion sensor light keeps flashing on and off, shining in our bedroom window through the blinds (4:52 am)
Toss turn…
…forget it. I’m just getting up for a while.
Now I’m up. Eating a banana and taking some omega 3 supplements. Supposed to help my brain think better. Good luck, lol.
A cup of tea, and I’ll check my email. Customer support stuff.
Watched a couple of videos about people using A.I. in various ways, some of them interesting.
Checked my Substack. Mostly boring. A couple interesting points were made.
Had a pack of M&Ms in the kitchen. Peanut Butter flavor. My last bit of junk food for the week. Sure why not.
Uhhh…sick to my stomach now. Mental note: M&Ms not a good breakfast food.
8:00am. 2 hours into working and not much accomplished. Some ideas generated.
About 10 sticky notes scattered across my desk. A couple pencils and a Rubik's Cube (speed cube.)
Plans…ideas…strategies…potential. What’s it going to be?
Facebook scrolling. A Brian G Johnson video about how not to be demonetized on YouTube…(too late Brian...too late, lol)
…seems like they are getting more and more restrictive every month. Sucked all the fun out of it. Maybe it’s a young man’s game.
Ahh hell. I need to get something done. Drink a cup of water. Argue with A.I. about insignificant world events…
And now I’m writing this email to you. It’s 9:10 am.
Not exactly presenting the dream in this email. Supposed to be "projecting success." That's okay, I'd rather project reality.
The reality is I'm just like most other people. I just happen to make my living running an online business.
I’ll be fixing our clothes dryer this afternoon. I was going to buy a new washer and dryer, but I think we can get another year or two out of what we got.
No reason to throw away a perfectly good dryer simply because…
…a heating element decided to go bad. You might not realize this but clothes dryers actually have surprisingly few parts to them.
Be careful with them though, they take a lot of electricity. Make sure the breaker is off and the dryer is unplugged before you mess with it.
Damn…I think I need a nap.
But I should stop digressing and get to a point.
If someone were to ask me how I was able to achieve success with my online business, I would tell them simply this:
Most days it was flying by the seat of my pants. Trying things. Energy and ambition mattered more than knowledge. A sense of humor can take you a long way.
I remember many days of uncertainty and not knowing if things were going to work. Many of them didn’t. Some of them did.
I watched some old youtube videos of myself this morning. Videos from 5…7…10 years ago…
Younger…skinnier…more energy. I’ve been doing this a long time.
So what’s the real point?
Well, looking back I’d say there’s gotta be some love to it.
Figure out what you love. Make some money doing that.
That's all I got! I’m going back to bed.
Kam
P.S. You can find more of my writing like this over at my Substack. If my emails were like your favorite move? My Substack would be like the special features.
